At last, My Birth Story 💗
On August 18th I was 3 days overdue, and on my way to the hospital for my appointment at 10am. My midwife was going to check up on me and discuss possibility induction etc. After doing an ultrasound, she saw there was very little amniotic fluid left in the sac, and my girl's heart rate wasn't as strong as they'd hoped.Â
She decided to strip my membranes and put me on watch with monitors keeping an eye on any braxton hicks' and my baby's heartbeat for an hour just to make sure we were okay.Â
We were, and she let me go. But due the problem with the amniotic fluid she wanted me induced within three days at most. So we planned a date and I went home.Â
At 12pm I began to feel what seemed like light contractions.Â
At 3pm I told my mom, they were about a minute long and came every five minutes. This was when I was supposed to call the hospital to ask if there was room for me to come in, but I didn't feel that bad so I waited.Â
6pm I called, as the contractions got worse but were still bareable to me. They wanted to let me stay home a little longer, but when I told them I hadn't felt my little one kick in a while, I had to come in to be monitored and make sure things were ok.Â
At the hospital around 7pm they confirmed I was 3-4 cm dilated, and I got send to a birthing room. At 8pm I was at 8cm and I started pushing at 21:35. My perfect Lea was born at 21:44, weighing 7lb 2oz and 20 inches. My mom cut the cord, and we went home the next morning.Â
