Tampons for teenagers?

I recently found out that some mothers refuse to let their daughters use tampons.  I started using them my when I was 12 due to an allergic reaction to feminine pads. What's your opinion on it? Should young girls and teenagers be allowed to use tampons?

They should be allowed to use whichever product they prefer, I'll be offering my daughters menstrual cups if that's what they want

I played sports and ran cross country. I used a tampon and a pad during races and soccer games for extra protection and I used tampons during volleyball games because we were required to wear spandex pants.

I started my period at 9 years old. If my 9 year old starts hers and wants to use tampons, then I am not going to stop her.

Hell yea my mom bought me some when I was a teen but I had trouble with them I'm happy I kno how to use em now tho

Tampons don't affect anything. They are for containing menstrual blood, that's IT. They don't break the hymen, they don't pop your cherry.... they soak up period blood. Yes, I will let my daughter use them. I started using them when I was 14 and wanted to swim but got my period.

I answered yes but thinking about it, I'd say it depends.

Some teen girls aren't very hygienic or responsible, and leaving a tampon in for more than 4 hours can be very dangerous, even for sleeping.

I'd probably suggest she try Thinx or organic pads instead.

Look I found out right before my period that I tampon can cause uterus cancer or create a std or prevent you from havin. Children since I started i  have used pads
