Craving dirt?

Question

Is anyone having extremely strong cravings for dirt? I know I must be deficient in something so I'll talk to my doctor next visit. But in the meantime does anyone eat it? I'm so close to just going in the backyard and getting a bowl!!!!! But I don't wna get sick or hurt baby girl :( I want it soooooo bad 😩😩😩😩😩 I even google editable dirt to purchase :/

I Had a pica with my first as well as woth this one for baking soda. Gross I know. I wanted to stick spoonfuls of it in my mouth. I would bring a box to work with me just so I could satisfy the craving. But the best part was I hated the taste! The second it would touch my tongue I would be so grossed out and want to rinse my mouth out. So I opted for brushing my teeth with it. As long as I'm not ingesting it my doctor says its fine? 
Dirt on the other hand... yeah definitely don't give into it!! Have you tried googling it? I'd see what the deficiency is and then try taking a vitamin of said deficiency to counter act the craving.

It sounds like pica, where you crave non-food things like dirt or clay. I know it can happen when your pregnant, but that's about all I know. I don't know how soon your doctors appt is, but maybe you should call if it's not real soon so you can get advice about how to handle it.
