Can flirting stop at JUST flirting?

I think flirting can stop at just flirting that it doesn't always lead to something more. What do you think?

I guess it just depends I have a flirty attitude my friends say im flirting even when I'm not trying to. But I have flirted but didnt want anything out of it it was just nice to be flirted back with with out the expectation of a phone number exchange or a see you later or can I see you again type deal. I say yeah flirting can happen with out something more happening.

I think it can stop at flirting. My husband's personality can be viewed as flirtatious. It used to really annoy me until I realized he is the same way with everyone. He speaks to his family, friends, and guy/girl strangers all the same. He likes to make people smile

Well I'm married so I don't flirt with anyone and I can guarantee my husband doesn't either so this isn't something I worry about.

But the only time I was ever flirting with someone was to figure out if something was there or not and if not I'd stop flirting and leave it at that, to me it's almost like curiosity the problem is even if it stops it was possibly going somewhere.
