OPK TEST-What does it really mean?

After 4 days of testing at a LOW,  I finally got a flashing smiley face yesterday and this morning. It has given me piece of mind just a little bit but I'm still waiting for that solid smile.  What do OPK tests really tell us though? I'm confused. Because even if my hormone levels are rising it doesn't necessarily mean that I am ovulating or will ovulate right??

Yes you're right! The tests can't tell you that you actually ovulated. It measures your hormones & tells you, you should ovate in the next 12-36hrs when you get the solid smiley. If you want to know if you are ovulating add in taking your temp. Before you ovulate your temp will dip & then if you ovulate it will rise & stay up. They suggest you start temping on CD1.

True. It's a cheap home way to try to help concieve. Some people can't afford to visit a fertility doctor every month so this allows them to pin point and give the best odds with out killing the bank.

Every opk that I've take has come back low fertility/the flashy smiley face. 15 days of them. Not sure if this means I didn't ovulate or just missed it. But I quit testing. It was stressing me out. Good luck!
