The little white pills?

So I forgot to ask my doctor this, but in a bc pack do the white "reminder" pills still act as BC or are they more of a placebo pill? I don't really understand why they are there...

The little white pills are often the placebo tablets- they do not contain the active hormones. This is when you are suppose to have your "period". Majority of placebos are just sugar pills but some may contain iron to help replenish red blood cells.

The main purpose of the placebos is to help w medication adherence. Helps keep you in the habit of taking the medication at the same time each day.

So you don't have to take the placebos. You can just go the 7 days then start your new pack. But the placebos can help you maintain good adherence :)

They are a placebo. Though some manufacturers put ingredients in them to help with iron levels, cramps, and bloating. So talk to your doctor to see if yours help. And for me if I skipped the reminder pills and continued onto my next active pills I would get really bad cramps.

They are so that you get your period. They are placebo pills, but if you are not pregnant or if your period is not irregular, it is the time you will get your period. You will still be protected during this week of pills. If you skip these pills and go straight to the active pills, you'll skip your period. But I heard that that can be painful

The white pills are placebo. But they do not matter if you take them or not. And they don't make you get your period. I took them in the beginning and now I don't. I also got prescribed pills that didn't even come with the placebo pills. So honestly it's up to you if you want to take them or not. But like I said those pills don't make you get your period or hurt you. Your period is natural. You don't take pills to help have your period.
