Cleanliness

So before I turned 22 is it weird that I've never knew what douching was before I got with my bf? I told him I was going to shower and he asked if I use a douche and I was embarrassed that I didn't know what it was. I just said what's that, he told me and called me gross. I let him know I'm definitely not gross and totally keep myself clean with V Wash, that I love. Should I start cleaning myself with one, or is the Summer's eve wash and cleansing cloths good enough?
