Have you ever watched a fashion show or looked in a magazine and just wondered if they are trying to see how many people would wear some of the stuff they show?

Bonus question: what's the stupidest piece of clothing or outfit you have seen advertised?

Mine had to have been a rain coat for adult men that had a trim of octopus tenticles. It was just there, amongst "normal" looking clothes in a magazine.

Me and my buddy used to get all sorts of magizines for free, so we would always sit around and laugh at some of the stupidest stuff they put in there
Of course it gets way worse then this

But fashion is an art form and I think a lot of people forget that. I don't think that all of the clothes showcased on runways are necessarily meant to be worn in every day life.

The majority of high fashion is just for artistic expression of the designer and for wealthy celebrities and other eccentrics that like to make bold statements.  There are so many designers and fashion houses that make most of their money off of common items like jeans, dresses and shoes.  They know most people aren't going to wear them, it's just for fun.  And a lot of high fashion photo shoots are about the same thing, artistic expression and fantasy.  I actually like seeing what designers come up with.
