Bleeding/spotting after/during sex?

We are about 8/9 weeks pregnant. He got it at a new angle tonight that is deeper than usual, and afterwards we noticed I was bleeding a bit. Not menstrual and no clumps. Did this happen to you during pregnancy? Midwife said it is pretty common and is okay unless I am cramping also.

Absolutely normal. It's not coming from your uterus. The walls of your cervix are more sensitive and blood flow is more concentrated. If it carries on for more than a day or two, I would call or go in just to be safe. But the majority of the time it's nothing. My doctor told me also that they don't worry if you're only wiping and getting a little blood. She said that if its getting on my underwear or in the toilet after I pee, to come in ASAP.
