What is the difference between Making love and having sex?

I can't give my fiancé a good definition of making love. I told him it's more kissing and loving each other rather than just fucking. Can someone explain the difference to me?

Making love- passion, more kissing, sweet nothings, etc. you take more time to make sure you're close like I would only make love in the missionary position, where your chests are touching and you can look into each others eyes and hold each other and make sure you both feel good.

Fucking is just the act of having sex, you're doing it and getting down and dirty and it doesn't have to be romantic it can be fun and kinky, etc.
