IUD Opinions?

Tomorrow is my first PP appointment. I want to ask about birth control that will also eliminate my menstrual cycles. I heard this was possible with IUD. Anyone use this form? Pros or cons?

Mine was good until it fell out. Leaving me stressing about being pregnant or not. 
I had it for about 15 months before I found it in the toilet during my last period!

I have PCOS, Skyla combined with cutting all soy (which is in a frightening amount of things) and all beef/dairy made from cows treated with rbst. Made my period go from so heavy I soaked a maxi pad and or tampon within an hour and a half. Now its so light I rarely if ever need a panty liner.

My cousin had the iud put it and she bloated up so much she looked like she was pregnant so she went to get Checked and they found that a tumor had grown around the IUD, she had it removed right away.

I had another friend who had the IUD in and she got pregnant and it turned out to be a atomic pregnancy where the baby was growing in her tubes.

So from the stories I've heard I personally wouldn't get one in me, but everyone's body reacts differently.

I had my IUD (mirena) for a little more than a year - it was my last try with hormones, as I don't get along well with any pill. 
Since I was 17 at the time and had not carried a child, getting it in was painful even despite the fact I was down under fully with anaesthesia. There was lots of pain for about a week and I was spotting constantly. After that, I didn't have trouble (or periods 😜) until it was taken out again! I loved it, and for everyone whose body doesn't reject hormones, I think it is just the perfect solution - no periods, no cramps, no remembering anything for up to 5 years. It's also quite cost-effective (at least here in Germany) because I paid 347€ / around 45O $, and that is less than what the pill costs monthly here.
However, do realize it will maybe feel alien at first, to know that there is something inside your body you cannot take our yourself.
