In labor or not?

I've been having contractions every 1-2 mins for the past 3 days I've already been to the hospital 2 times and they send me home because I'm only 1cm dilated can I ask my doctor to induce me?

Drink lots of fluids and rest. If they still persist go to L&D

I had a really long latent phase and slow dilation - but very frequent and strong (as strong as they got) contractions. Baby was coping ok though. After 4 days (and 3cm dilated) they offered to break my waters as I was just completely exhausted, but I decided to try a sweep first. They did that and I had my baby early the next morning with no more intervention. Can you ask for a sweep?
