Implantation bleeding?

One cycle had passed, partner and I tried for a baby around the time of ovulation (used ovulation strips)... A week or less had gone by and had what I thought was spotting.. It was the equivalent to a light period though, lasted a few days (4 or so), no clotting, tiny cramps, brown/ maroon coloured blood.. And I still have a until Saturday when my period is suppose to be coming.. I've done a few tests though, all negative. I'm not too sure if this is spotting or just an early period. Anyone had something similar? Thank you 😊
