Why is this happening

I just found out that the baby heart stopped beating and if the baby don't come out on its own tonight my doctor has me scheduled for a DnC in the morning I don't understand why this happened to us.  I am no words hurt.

I'm so sorry to hear this. 
Unfortunately sometimes there are no answers as to why. 
Just know it is absolutely nothing you did or didn't do. 
I miscarried in November last year, and I spent so much time looking for a reason and blamed myself for silly things like staying up too late. But that was just torturing myself. 
It is a tough time, but it does get easier.
