Massage?

I'm a little over 8 weeks and wanted to get a massage for my bday but they require a release from my dr. Am I not supposed to get massages??

It's contraindicated in first trimester. After 13 weeks you're good to go, just make sure it's with a massage therapist who specializes in it. I'm in the massage industry and even or pregnancy massage guru won't touch women under 13 weeks for safety reasons. It's more to protect the therapist than anything since miscarriage rates are so high in first trimester, they don't want to massage you on a Monday, you miscarry on a Tuesday and then sue them on Wednesday blaming the massage.

My doctor gave me the okay even during the first trimester. My massage therapist has plenty of experience in prenatal massage so I trust her. Plus I get them regularly to help prevent my chronic migraines so I'd actually be worse off skipping them. I did cut down from every two weeks to once a month due to fiances and boy it sucks haha

I'm 6 weeks and just asked my doc this same Q this morning. He said to go right ahead,  just make sure they know you're pregnant! Enjoy and happy bday!

You are more than welcome to get massages. I know for sure that some spas will have maternity tables that have a hole where you can lay on your tummy and there's no pressure on your baby! Keep looking :)

Messages are not recommended during early pregnancy and even later term there are some places they are not supposed to rub because your pressure points change and some spots are know to induce labor. 
I tried to get one two weeks ago still got one but when she asked if I had any medical conditions and I told g get I was pregnant she said she had to chance the type of message she would preform
