Confused

So, I've been off birth control for 3 years and my periods have stayed pretty regular as if I were still on the pill. These past couple months they've been 2-3 days late. This month, I was suppose start yesterday/today and still no signs. I've had my typical symptoms which is only VERY sore breasts for two weeks... I've began to experience some slight cramping but just on my left side. I'm unsure of what to do and if this is normal or not.
