Calling all book nerds :)

There is something special about the way a good book weaves it's way into your life. The magic of holding the slick edges of a silky cover as you try to balance it on your leg in some awkward fashion as you sip your coffee or tea. How the barely pliable grains of the paper of a new book stick together but somehow catch your finger as you turn the page. The way you innocently attach yourself to the most unsuspecting character and find yourself physically and emotionally connecting to them as the story unfolds. The hesitancy to close it as a chapter ends because it's time for bed and wondering if you will still connect to them in the morning. The excitement and longing to read the font on the paper the next day and beckon it to once again tug at your soul. That beautiful moment where you literally just fade away into the ink and you let the book absorb you as you absorb the book. There isn't technology in the world that can compare to that feeling. It is such a simple innocent excitement and longing that overtakes you when you read a good book. To anyone who says there isn't, hasn't closed a book feeling like they have either lost a little of them self or gained something for themselves, you're SO missing out. Boy, are you missing out. There's something about the way it lingers, and the quotes almost seem like a faded conversation with a friend. Books have a way of doing that, they just reach out and grab you when you least expect it and when you end it, you are never ever the same. At least that's how it is for me. Pick up a book, let your heart connect with the pages, a little reading is all the therapy a person needs some time. When it's over, find a new one, start a new chapter, begin again. We lose ourselves in books, we find ourselves there too :)
