Has anyone ever tried or thought about buying clomid to assist with ovulation?

Ive been TTC officially for 3+ years now and NTNP for 7 years with 4 losses. I have extremely irregular cycles and PCOS is suspect. No dr in my area will prescribe me clomid yet my old drs were thinking about it. (recently moved just over 1 year ago)

Im 27, hubby is 30 and no living children and we are desperate to start a family.

Yes i know of side effects and risks but im thinking about taking this risk.. so please do not comment if you just want to lecture me.
