How do I been there for him.?

My fiance brother baby brother they are one year apart just went to jail it looks like he's going to be there for a while some years so my baby is really hurt and he feels that how can his brother make such a stupid decision that affects not only him but his kids how do I be there for him like not to be negative or nothing but I knew it was bound to happen his brother getting locked up but it happened and I told him it was going to happen but now I feel bad how do I be there for him without being too much in his face?
