Just curious because I'm so scared to tell my parents I'm pregnant!

Some parents get angry at first, but in the end it brings families closer a lot because who doesn't love a baby! My grandma had my mom at 15, my mom was pregnant at 18, my sister at 18, and I'm 25 (literally the oldest in my family for my first child) you can still complete school and get an education with a baby, don't let anyone tell you otherwise! If you have the drive to do it you can! Best of luck and congratulations!

Tell your parents what you want to do with you and your potential baby. If you want to abort, but they don't it's ultimately your body, your family and your choice.

OR on the flip side of that if you want to keep it, but your parents don't, then have the 3 of you go to DSHS to find out more about how you can receive government support. You can even research together if there are accommodations you school can make to help you graduate on time, and if you wish head on to college.

OR, if you want to put the child up for adoption there are 2 kinds. Closed and open. An open adoption means that you and your family can still participate in the child's life. A closed adoption means that you won't have contact with the child.

Whatever happens know that you are in charge of what happens to you, Planned Parenthood is an excellent resource whatever you decide to do!

I was 18.  Fresh out of high school.  My mom was so angry and if one of my kids were in that situation I would handle it way different than she did.  But she ended up being very supportive, the only one.  But you have to tell because you're going to need the support!  I'm now 24 with a beautiful 5 year old boy and am married to the man who raised my son.  We are ttc his first my second and are doing very well.  Don't you ever let anyone tell you you'll never succeed!! No matter what you will be just great :) I wish someone had told me that!

And also don't let anyone tell you, you won't be successful. When people found out I was pregnant that's all I was hearing. But, I'm pushing myself so hard. I live on my own, work full time and I'm a full time student. So anything is possible and congratulations as well, babies are such a big blessing. I'm a teen mom. I got pregnant at 17 I was senior in high school. My parents didn't even know I was dating my boyfriend at the time, they had never technically met him they seem him at a lot of my volleyball games but had no idea he was my boyfriend. Sit them down and be mature about it, and let them know your decision on wether you will be keeping the baby or not. Telling your parents can be scary but it's better sooner than later. I was three months along when I had told my parents.

Does your other half know your pregnant? How does he feel about it? I would definitely tell your mom before your dad or which ever parent you are closer with. At least you're 18 and not younger. It could be worse. How close are you to being graduated? Nows the time to set out a plan for yourself and for the baby and hopefully your other half is with you along the way. Make sure you point out the plan to your parents letting them know how responsible you are to ease their worries. They don't want you doing it alone. If you're comfortable enough ask your mom to go with you on appointments. Or when you just tell her smooth things over by telling her you want her to be the one to go with you for your first appointment.
