Been trying maybe too hard?

Question

I have tried for many years to get pregnant. Never happened. I am a smoker. But know smokers who have gotten pregnant. I am always stressed, but still not sure that that is the reason. Am i suppose to let the sperm stay in me for a few minutes or something? Not sure what could be wrong.

Stress does a lot of damaging things to your body. I'm in the same boat. I recently bought some natural stress relief vitamins hoping they help me relax and start baby makin lol

Stress can definitely have negative effects. However, most women I know are always stressed about one thing or another because our lives can be chaotic. I would go see an OBGYN and have a full work up done, including blood work, a physical examination, and possibly an ultrasound to look for signs of PCOS. Ask her if any health issues you currently have could be affecting your fertility. Also, after sex you are supposed to lay fairly still for about 5 minutes to make sure the semen has an opportunity to travel where it needs to go. If you stand up right after, most of it will run out due to gravity, and that defeats the purpose. I usually try to keep my legs closed while I lay there just so I keep as little from running out as possible. But, if you have been trying for years and had no positive results, I would advise you to get a consultation from a doctor. Best of luck!
