They aren't legally allowed to ask. But I think it's kinda shady to not tell them. I would offer the information and explain how you will deal with it in your new role. Exude confidence!

I'm right there with you. I've been actively applying for a new job to end my career as a rotating shift worker. Since we're much lee safe, and I'm showing-- it would be good to tell. Here's how I see it. If you tell them and the only reason they dknt hire you is because you're carrying a little miracle, then you shouldn't work for them anyway. Any place that doesn't want to hire you because you'll be a mother is a place that I wouldn't want to work for. :)

Not until you get the job if you're able to hide it. They're not allowed to ask, and they're not allowed to deny you a job since you're pregnant, but in most cases they will. I went through this after nursing being 3 months pregnant. The first three places I interviewed for I told them, no call. The last three I kept it to myself and I got offers for all three jobs. It's sad the way it works, but in my experience it's best to let them know once you have the job secured.

I was offered a job by a school that I had interviewed with before I got pregnant. When she offered me the job I was about 3 1/2mos pregnant. I let her know, she congratulated me & still offered me the job. I then heard about another (even better) position. I went on the interview & let him know that I was pregnant. He said that they couldn't not hire me because of that. I didn't get offered the job (2nd grade class)..& then the other day he called & offered me a Kindergarten position! I am now 4 1/2 mos pregnant!

My personal opinion, if you're that far along, I think it's kind of rude to your future employer to not tell them. Cause you'll be needing to go out on leave in just a few months after being hired and they should know that so they can be adequately prepared. It's also good to know what their policies are on leave and what benefits you can get. I started my job while I was 8 weeks pregnant & since I'll be giving birth before I'm there a year, I don't qualify for any leave, nor disability pay. This is something I definitely needed to know in advance so I knew what my options were.

It's something that is personal and you do not have to tell them, although they might feel a little upset that you didn't tell them though. I would tell them before actually getting into the interview "I'm pregnant (insert months along) and looking for a job until I have the baby and possibly coming back after baby is born" they can't not hire you for being pregnant. My friend who was 7 months along got a job. She's about to pop and still working. Good luck!

I had an interview that was going so well! They loved me and I could tell it was a for sure thing. Then I mentioned I was pregnant (11 weeks at the time). The woman was supportive and understood. She was in the same situation with her first kid. However, the change in the man's face was horrible. He didn't say a word for the rest of the interview. Needless to say, I didn't get the job. Moral of the story: just go in with all your strength. It's not easy and frankly it's not fun. I hope your interview goes much better than mine!
