My 65 year old mum has always been anti tattoos. I have been getting tattooed since I was 15 (I'm 31 now) and I have always gotten so many lectures from my mum.

Well, this week my mum got her first tattoo at 65 years old! I was so proud of her. She let go of a lot of judgement that she carried all of these years.

She is an incredibly brave lady who has battled many health issues including breast cancer and she sat like a champ during the tattoo which was done by my husband. It was one of the weirdest family bonding moments but I felt like she finally accepted me for my choices.

Here is a picture, it's very fresh and swollen, I'm hoping to get a better picture of it when the white calms down!
