Dark blood?

Question

Is it normal for my period blood to be really dark? It's never been this dark before. The blood is maroon. First is this healthy and second does anybody know the cause?

I don't have a scientific answer, but one woman to another, I can say I believe it's normal from what I've seen and heard. My personal experience is, depending on the day of my period cycle, the color changes. Menstrual blood isn't just one color. Sometimes it's more brown, other times it's bright red; maroon is normal too. If you're really concerned there's nothing wrong with asking your doctor or gyno; that's what they're there for! :)

It just means your bleeding heavier sometimes it can even look black it's so heavy
