Maternity pics?

So I have a session tomorrow with my husband to get our pics and I'm super excited but he thinks we are getting ripped off.. It's 150$ for a session and doesn't include prints, products or digital files.
Which means it's going to be more then 150$ she honestly was the only photographer I liked!
Is she pricey or is this the usual pricing?

I'm paying $450 for maternity, newborn, 6 months and 1 years photos. The maternity session is 1.5 hours, the newborn is a 2 hours session, 6 month is 30 minutes and the 1 year is 1 hour. I get all edited images on a disc with rights to all of them. I'm also paying my photographer $250 for her to shoot during my labor and delivery. And that had an unlimited time limit on it.

Holy cow! $500 for pics?! Luckily my mother in law is a photographer and does them for free. I can't imagine paying $500 for maternity pics and then a few weeks later pay $400 for newborn..

I had mine done yesterday. Paid $350 for 20 prints plus digital copies. It all depends on the photographer. I'll spend money on something I'm going to keep & cherish for years to come. I absolutely love my photographer. In my opinion, she's the best in a few states. Everyone does things differently, so I get that a lot won't see it the same as me but I'd spend the money over & over again for my photos. $150 is rly cheap, so I would expect you to purchase your own prints & things.

I'm really considering not getting photos. I wish my mom were around, she did my wedding pictures with the price being she could use them for her portfolio.

I'd just as soon edit my own darn pictures, a lot of photographers do too much to them in my opinion. I know how to work Photoshop and have been editing pictures for almost 11 years now. Maybe I can get someone to man my camera and I can edit them after.

I'm sorry this happened to you. Did it have the specific prices on the website or a generic prints are extra disclaimer? I can imagine sticker shock if the actual prices weren't listed.

I'm so sad now.. Just finished the photoshoot it went great the pics were exactly what I wanted them to be but we finished it and I ask for a cd with the pics on them and she said that's not how she does this. She edits them all and I can either pay 430$ for collections of my favs (prints) or pay 45$ a print.. I can't afford that right now before the baby comes.. Apparently it said that on her website but I didn't see it :(
I texted her asking if I could just have the raw pics unedited and still haven't gotten a response.. I'm so sad I just want our pictures.. :(
