Am I a slut?

So I'm 17 and I lost my virginity a few weeks ago and now my best friend is calling me a slut because of it. When I ask her why she says it's because I had sex and that I have a lot of guy friends. Does this really make me a slut? Why would my friend call me that even if i am?

No one is a "slut". That word has been made into a negative over the years of this generation. One cannot be labeled by the number of sexual encounters they experience. Some have more sex, some have less. Sex is natural. If anything, call your "friend" a prude ass bitch if she thinks it's okay to label you.

I just responded to a very similar question yesterday. What is it with the slut thing? As long as you are being responsible and making sure you protect yourself from both unplanned pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of you. Anyone who thinks you are a "slut" is spending too much time worrying about a life that isn't theirs to live. I feel like calling a woman a slut it just a way to make her feel ashamed for being sexually active. Don't be ashamed, be informed!

No one is a slut. Slut is just a derogatory term to tear people down. The amount of sex partners one has doesn't deem ones worth. The only thing that matters is staying sexually healthy with BC if your not TTC along with condoms to help prevent STDs & STIs and getting regularly tested if one is having multiple sex partners.

This girl is being immature and isn't a true friend. She has no right to comment on your sex life unless she's concerned about your safety if you're being reckless, which you aren't. Surround yourself with girls who are supportive and noninvasive 😊
