How much should we be able to pump when baby is 4 weeks old?

I am only able to pump between 1-2 ounces at a time per side max. My daughter eats very often and always has a mouth full of milk and tons of dirty diapers so I feel like I'm producing enough for her but when I pump it doesn't seem like the case.

I only pump for when we plan to go out. I'm nervous to pump too often and not leave enough for her for our regular day at home.

I feel like the pump is the right size and speed (evenflo double electric).
Am I normal? I see my friend pump full bottles for her two month old.

You shouldn't worry about pumping too much milk, your breasts never actually fully drain, they are constantly producing. Pumping is actually going to encourage your body to produce more milk! You may try pumping longer to get more milk, I wouldn't pump each breast for more than 10 minutes though.

Your body supplies as much as needed for your baby! A newborn baby is going to need much less milk than a baby that's a couple months old. As long as baby is having wet and dirty diapers and gaining weight, you're totally fine mama!

My baby feeds constantly as well. I pump as much as I comfortably can, maybe twice a day. This is just to supplement her and chub her up. My production is only about two to three ounces total. If I had more help and could sit and relax I'd try more. Oh and I only have a little manual pump- time consuming!

My daughter is 3 weeks old, and I've been able to manually pump 1-3oz in a sitting. But I've only pumped once per day because she cluster feeds and is always latched on.

I want to make sure I don't over do it and hurt my nipples.

I also have the evenflo double electric, but in nervous to start using it. Do you like it?

Also the pump never truly gets all of what you have out. Our babies are much more efficient at getting milk then a pump is. A pump might get about half of what we produce.
