Does anyone else feel extremely akward telling you parents about your pregnancy?

Maybe it's just me but I feel like I'm basically announcing to my parents "hey! I had sex a while ago! Look what we made!!". Idk. It's just me. My parents are pretty anti-sex talk anything. They're not that excitable either 😔😞 So this is kind of a big issue for me and my husband.

When you tell someone your pregnant the excitement of a baby generally is the only thing on their mind. They don't think oh wow my daughter was having sex a few weeks ago lol they will probably be like omg we are going to be grandparents

I'm guessing since you're married, the cats out of the bag lol. Obviously you're of age to be married so they know you're having sex. Trust me, their first thought isn't going to be where babies come from - it will be excitement that they are going to be grandparents!!

Telling and talking about it with my dad is weird. I try to pretend it doesn because he is so excited lol

It's a little awkward but... most adults have sex. Nothing out of the ordinary. They'll be thinking more about the baby part than the baby-making part :)

I'm married and I was still nervous to tell my dad but after I did he was so happy it made his time in the hospital a lot better.

It's weird for me lol. As far as I'm concerned, everyone in our family was created asexually haha. We do not ever talk about sex or anything of the sort. Ever. And my husbands family is just so open and free with talking about everything. I'm always slightly embarrassed lol.

I don't mind talking about pregnancy. We have a toddler and one on the way and my husband always jokes that he can at least prove he's gotten some at least twice! Ha! But I didn't tell anyone when we were TTC, because I feel like you're basically telling everyone you're having a lot of sex. Not that I think that's something to be embarrassed of, but it is something I don't want my parents thinking about!
