Naysayers? Looking for some positivity! ( a rant sort of)

Question

I'm in love with someone whose currently facing hard times and doesn't really have his life together, he lost his job, his place and is currently staying with his mother (all happening before I met him.) -we're very young, 20 &  23. We have known each other however for a number of years. We just started dating two months ago and he is currently taking steps to get his left together, actively looking for work and his options to go to school....But everyone is doubting us and telling me I'm wasting my time being with him. It's not useless right? It gets better and there is hope?

He treats me very well. And we have a good time together. We also come from very different worlds and we raised very differently. I always had support to get and keep my life on track. I AM his first support to get it together and realize there is more for him out there and he deserves it.

There's so much negative talk a the relationship and it puts stuff in my head. :( share your success stories!

If he makes you happy, treats you well, and you enjoy your time with him then I see nothing wrong with the situation. So long as your support is mental/emotional and you don't end up financially supporting him entirely, (friend did that and ended up in a terrible situation), then you go for it!! Everyone is going to have their opinion of you and what you're doing with your life, take their opinion with a grain of salt and continue down your path if it brings you happiness.

This sounds like me and my wife when we first met. I was probably a bit more stupid than he is though. Once I met her I began stopping all the dumb stuff and doing right. It took me a while but we have been together for 6 years and have a happy family of four. As long as you see him actively trying to do better than hang in there, he will figure it out.

My SO I'm with now. We have been together for five months tomorrow. I live him dearly. A lot of people told me not to get with him even one of his exs. I went against everything they said.

Shortly after we got together I started noticing his personality was different a lot. (We moved in together after a week of dating) not long after I started noticing that he had a episode where he forgot who he was. Well we come to find out when he was younger he had multiple personalities.

Now he is seeking treatment and we are doing good. We have our good days and our bad. We live with my mom and we both don't have jobs or a car but we are trying to get everything together and get our life's together. .

Time. That's all you need. And if you really tryely love him stay and help him so you all can be a stronger couple.

I'm 22 nd he is 25.
