I lost my virginiry when I was 16 (21 now) and horniness definitely clouded my judgement. I believe sex is a big commitment. I've read that many girls (including myself) regret who they lost their virginity to, HOWEVER, I think that the experience also helped them grow to be better about who they opened themselves sexually to the next time they had sex. I know it did with me. It made me realize that I wasn't really ready for sex, I definitely wasn't mature enough. Now some people can be fine, or even prefer, more casual sex and how or who they lost their virginity to doesn't bother them. Others may never forget that first time and if the relationship didn't work out, that heartbreak can last for many years. And there are always those of varying degrees in between. I believe that if you are ready to have sex you'll be able to openly talk about it beforehand with the partner. And more in depth than just if there will be condoms. Talk about ways to help with possible first time pain you may experience. Consider lube. And no, you shouldn't not need it because your young and "should" be wet enough. All ages benefit from lube. Plus nervousness may inhibit how well you're able to naturally lubricate yourself. Talk about positions you may want to try. Make sure you both understand that engaging in sex, even with one or more forms of protection, can still result in pregnancy. And make sure can laugh if things aren't perfect ;) Focus on having fun with the exploration of each other's bodies and not some expectation that this has to be a certain way.
