All natural!
My little man joined us on August 20th 840 pm weighing 6lbs,9oz 20" long!
FTM started having contractions early morning but not painful at all. Had my "show" around noon, and let me tell you- I have never been so excited to see blood!! My baby was coming soon!!!
Contractions continued at around 4-5 minutes apart. I called our hospitals triage to see what I should do and they told me to wait until my contractions were 3 minutes apart. Sounds reasonable, I wasn't in any pain and it's better to be at home! At around 530 my husband and I made our way to the hospital. They checked me right away and I was already 5cm! We were thrilled. I was then admitted and checked again in L&D and was 6cm! The doctor offered to break my water seeing as things were progressing quickly. Boy is the "breaking of the water" ever awful. Not painful, no- just so awkward because it's just the most uncomfortable and warm way to pee yourself. Ever. That being said, once my water was broken(around715), the contractions escalated by 10,000 X. I kindly asked the doctor to put my water back in as this was no longer fun. She must have heard it before because she had a water gun and we played cops and robbers for a bit.
Totally kidding
Reality- doctors cannot put your water back. Don't ask. It pisses them off.
Back to it then. My water is broken. My requests ignored. My contractions are like not cool. But this is labor and labor doesn't go away until baby's out. So here we go! About 20 minutes after my water broke I felt like I had to push. As I let the nurse know I mentioned that I would be interested in any sort of legal drug she was able to administer. Nope, baby's coming and we don't have time. My request, once again, denied.
My plan wasn't to go natural- in fact I had no plan. I just wanted to make it out of this alive with a healthy baby. I recall asking the nurse to just hit me over the head, knock me out so I wouldn't have to rawly feel such a big thing coming out of a hole that I had a hard time getting a tampon in.
Nope.
Well ladies and gentlemen; we pushed for 50 minutes and boom (okay, not quite "boom" but you know what I mean) the most handsome man you ever did see was put on my chest and I really cannot describe how full I felt. Full of love full of awe full of relief (mostly that no one had hit me over the head or I would have missed this miraculous moment).
8months 2 weeks pregnant
3 hours of active labor
Our bodies are built for this ladies :) it's amazing and it's real and I couldn't be more proud
It is my absolute pleasure to introduce to you, Frederick 😍
