Anyone else NOT having a baby shower?

This is my first baby and I don't plan on having any kind of baby shower. I don't really have tons of people I consider friends and as far as "family" goes I have my grandma and my best friend. Any other real friends I have are scattered across the states so... hahaha I just figured it's better not to have one.

Do I want one sure - It's part of this whole first time pregnancy experience but you can't always get what you want, right? 😊 haha

I am doing a casserole party, after having my first daughter standing on my feet for more than 15 minutes was really hard so cooking was out of the question.  So this time around instead of having a baby shower we are going to have a family get together to celebrate our baby but instead of gifts and silly games I am putting the invites on a disposable casserole dish and asking for unique healthy meals that I can deep freeze and reheat... the winner of the best tasting casserole will receive a gift card to a local restaurant. Not typical I know but my family understands that nutrition and easy meals are more important to me than regular gifts.

I'm anti-shower. The games are just degrading and sad. They are always so awkward with the gift rituals. Not my thing. 
When I get invited to one I happily buy them a gift (love shopping for baby things!) and give it to them while politely declining. 
I've found that people who want to get you something will whether you have a shower or not.

Maybe you can have a baby sprinkle. I just heard of this recently. It's like a toned down version of a baby shower. And then it could only be the people you are close with, even if it's not that many.

I would like one but probably not. I have no friends or family here. My husband has friends at his work that want me to but i don't know them so it would be awkward for me.

I'm having what they call a "baby sprinkle". Just my immediate family and two of my closest friends. I had one with my #2 baby and loved it. With my first I hated having to entertain so many people I was 38 weeks so I was pretty big and it was in September and the weather was extremely hot that year!! Other than that it was fine we never play the traditional games, I find them annoying 😆

Unless I throw it for myself, which seems tacky to me, I doubt any of my friends will even think about it and family all live so far away it wouldn't be doable for them to throw me a shower.
