Trying for baby #3

I had both my daughters in my early/middle twenties. Now my husband and i are trying for #3 and it's not happening. I had a very early miscarriage at the beginning of this month and now I'm feeling defeated. Is it safe to go ahead and keep trying or should I throw in the towel?
