Ovulation-how do you know??

How do you know? My husband and i are kinda sorta TTC(if it happens it happens if it doesn't that's ok). But my periods are so irregular, and I've been taking ovulation tests but I just can never tell when I'm ovulating or not. Maybe I'm just not used to taking the tests and Im not reading them correctly. I read somewhere that when you have thick, cloudy  EWCM it means you're not fertile? But I thought that it meant you were ovulating. I'm so confused lol. What are some symptoms you have that you are ovulating?

EWCM should be clear and have the consistency of egg whites. Cloudy and watery CM doesn't mean you're not fertile, it just means the environment isn't optimal for sperm to smoothly swim through the cervix and survive.

What's the length of your cycle? You may be missing your fertile window is you're taking the test too early and stop, or too late in your cycle.

For me, I use digital opks. I rarely ever see fertile cm on my panties. I usually get a couple small pimples on the side of my face that corresponds with the same side ovary I'm ovulating from. Once I get a positive opk (mines usually late.. Cd 20-23) I get very crampy and gassy and pain on whichever side I'm ovulating from. It's very obvious and uncomfortable for me. Then, the next day my temp is up in the 98 range which confirms I ovulated! So that is how I know!
