Why don't drs tell everyone...

Val
I've lost a daughter and son, both at 22 weeks due to Ic.  With my next pregnancy, my daughter. I had a cerclage placed at 12 weeks and put in Bedrest. At 18 weeks I tore through my stich and was placed In the hospital on Bedrest with an emergency cerclage performed. I stayed in hospital until 30 weeks, when I delivered. Thankfully it all turned out well for us! As I read all of your stories about funneling and problems I've personally experienced I'm wondering why drs don't tell every woman with ic that there is another option available?  I had an abdominal cerclage placed when I was 10 weeks pregnant (most do pre pregnancy) and haven't had an issue since. I'm 34 weeks now!!  No Bedrest, no injections, no funneling!!!! Why don't the drs promote this surgery and save everyone the pain of multiple losses?  Vaginal Cerclages are 70% effective to have a "viable" pregnancy which is 28 weeks!  Abdominal Cerclages are 95% effective to get you to term!  I truly thought I could only have one child. But here I am. Ready to have a second without complication!  It was a long road. My surgery was 5 hrs away in a different state (i chose that specific dr though) it's incomfortable, similar to a csection, and it is permeant so you will need a csection but, so do 1/4 women.  Just know that there is hope for those of you wanting to have bigger families. abbyloopers.org is a site filled with women that have ic and talk about every issue possible. It's a good resource for everyone on Bedrest and Ic. Lots of women on there are also on Bedrest and looking to compare notes :)  good luck to each of you and your pregnancies. I've been there and I know how hard it is!
