My water broke at 34 weeks and 1 day while I was getting ready to go to work. I was able to stay pregnant for both doses of steroids (42hours). On my third day in the hospital I started going into active labor which was causing babies heart to drop with every contraction. My doctors were about to prep me for a Caesarian when they decided to let me lay on my back, opposed to my side, which caused my sons heart distress (and my pain) to subside. They watched him very closely and I was able to have him vaginally without any complications whatsoever! He is still in the NICU but he is doing wonderful at 5lbs and 3 ounces with no assistance breathing.
