Do I really need a glider?

Question

I'm planning to breastfeed and just need to know if a glider is worth it.

If anyone has any recommendations of comfortable ones those are welcome, too.

Also, we are planning to use a bassinet or similar in our bedroom for a few months at least. If we do get a glider should we put it in the bedroom with us or in the baby's room?

I personally don't like gliders... I get motion sick on them. I do have a nice big swivel rocker recliner. I love it! I can nurse, then recline it and fall asleep without having to get up and wake the baby, and then I'm right there ready to go for the next nursing session.

Doesn't have to be a glider but some sort of comfy seat that rocks is a definite must have for me

We have a recliner that does not fit into our new living room. So I intend on using that in our bedroom. I read where it's better to feed the baby in the same where he/she will sleep, so it's easier to get back to sleep and not a lot of transition between rooms.

I read that a recliner is better to get because it's more comfortable especially with the big comfy arms. So that's what i,got and it rocks and reclines. I'm gonna be spending a lot of time at 1 or 3 am. In that chair better be comfy

If you are concerned about cost, watch your local thrift stores. I got mine and refurbished for total cost of $40, and its hard wood not press board like lots of stuff now days...

We had ours in her nursery and I used it a TON after the first 3-4 months to nurse her before bedtime in her room and for middle of the night feelings. My 1st was not a good sleeper so I spent a lot of time in our chair/glider rocking her. Also, came in handy to comfort her when she got sick or was teething. I would say that technically we could have waited to purchase it, but it was nice having it there ready to use. Now she's 2 and one of use sits with her in it to read stories before bed. We've put a lot of mileage on ours so I'm glad we invested in a nice one. Ours was from Monte.

I was so uncomfortable nursing in my glider. I think you probably would be happy with a comfy chair, though. Go sit on some. I like to nurse with my legs folded under me and that's why I couldn't do it on the glider, it wasn't wide enough. 😀

I used a comfy recliner/rocket much more comfortable than a glider.

I didn't use my rocking chair until my son was. Much older like 6 months or so. Before then, he was in our room the whole time
