Anyone else with polycystic ovaries but *not* PCOS?

Question

Has anyone else been diagnosed with polycystic ovaries but have otherwise regular, normal periods? Do you have any other symptoms? Thanks for any responses, just got diagnosed and trying to figure it out.

I have ovarian cysts & usually more than 1 at a time. The only syptoms I ever have is pain in my ovaries & when one bursts feeling like someone stabbed a balloon that was blown up inside there.

During my first annual exam I was told I had polycystic ovaries. I have pretty regular periods though. Prior to ovulation my ovaries feel a bit swollen (the only way I can think of to describe it). When one ruptures it feels like someone stabbed me right inside of my hip.

My first  big tip for PCOS is

See an OB that has experience treating PCOS. I had my first period at 9 and was formally diagnosed at 13 and put on the pill.

The OB at children's was rude and told me "Now Patty Anne, this is not a free license to have sex willy nilly." It took all I had not to gut check her. Instead I told her "Boys are gross, boys will always be gross. I am a child, and intend to remain as such until I see fit. Madam."

I went through 4-5 more OBs like that and I'd have to explain PCOS to them Then I met the last 2 OBs, the first one put me in metformin and mirena. It was amazing.

Now I've been weened off metformin because the combination of the IUD Skyla coupled with cutting all soy and rbst has helped me start ovulating again, reduced my hairiness and helped me drop 30 pounds in 6 months, with little to no exercise as I have a herniated disc. (Thanks Dad for the 2nd gene for PCOS, the Lanier rating "bitch I will cut you" smirk, fabulous legs and crummy last 6 discs. {They're half the size they should be, it's a birth defect on my father's side})
