How old is too old to have your first?
Turning 38 in December. TTC for 2.5 yrs, 2 failed IUIs, July IVF w PGD testing in August allowing for a FET of the one available embryo in September. Pregnancy test in 2 days w all hpt negative and no symptoms. So I'm prepared to start IVF again and as soon as they'll let me. But I feel I'm running out of time, especially because I want more than 1 child. I have a balanced translocation (if anyone reading this has unexplained infertility, request for karyotype testing- have to request for it specifically) making it difficult to become pregnant. And it's X-linked so we can't have any females- at least for now- waiting for experimental testing to become available. I've never had a miscarriage b/c I can't even get to the positive pregnancy test. Anyone else out there like this? Anyone w infertility problems who's been able to have their first child in the 38+ age bracket?
