Is it okay to eat fish? 🐠

Someone told me that fish was one of the worst to eat while pregnant. Just want to know what were told.

Actually some fish is really good for you (in smaller quantities than pre pregnancy of course) like salmon, halibut and tilapia. Great sources of iron and omega 3s. However like someone previously said any sort of fish that's a predator type fish (shark, swordfish, yet) is not good because of the higher mercury content. Also, obviously make sure all the fish is cooked throughly and you are not eating sushi. Ohh how I miss sushi! Good luck 😊

Farm raised tilapia is a good choice. You have to be very careful of mercury from fish

It depends... There are certain types of fish that are out completely and certain ones you can only have so much of each week... Your ob should have gave you a paper listing all of it...

I read something along the lines of no shark, swordfish or tilefish(anyone heard if this guy?) And limit your fish intake to a certain amount a week. It was interesting, according to the book,  regular canned tuna in water you could have I think I was 3 small doses a week, but white albacore tuna was only once a week. The doctor can definitely answer your questions with pamphlets and books though :)

Some are fine, some are not...I have had to research which ones are not. I had cod last night because from what I have read that is one  of the ones that's ok.

I have been told that eating fresh water fish like salmon is ok, but to limit salt water fish especially the bigger ones like swordfish. Everything in moderation.

Everything you read says not to eat large fish or sea creatures. They spend more time in the water and have higher levels of mercury. If you want to eat fish eat it smart and in moderation. You're growing baby needs the omega 3s. If not make sure your eating things like avocados and walnuts.
