Epilepsy Meds During Pregnancy
Hey everyone!
I recently had a seizure and was diagnosed with epilepsy. Prior to that my husband and I had wanted to start trying to have a baby. But afterwards my health became the main concern. I saw my primary care doctor and he said that I can't be pregnant while taking epilepsy medications. Whaaaaa???!!!! But then I saw a neurologist who specializes in these kinds of disorders and he said that not all are good for the baby BUT he has had MANY pregnant patients have had HEALTHY babies. So...I'm just wondering if any of you moms out there have been in my position before? Are you epileptic and did you still have a healthy baby? Was your pregnancy high risk? The hubby and I really want to start a family but not at the risk of our child's life. Please help!!!
