Castor oil?

Any already moms take this to quicken up labor? Would love to hear how far you were and your birth stories on it if you could share :)

My midwife said it makes the baby poop too and he or she could swallow it. My friends son was in the NICU for 5 weeks and had to be on oxygen for a month after he came home because thats what happened to him. No castor oil.

Don't take it! It's a laxative. Will cause baby harm.

I wouldn't do it. I had a friend who did at 40 weeks and her son passed his first bowel movement in the womb because of it and it caused severe infection when he ingested it and he passed away. Baby will come when he/she is ready!

I mean I haven't done it but my friend at the moment is trying to bring on. Her own labour, she just started trying castor oil, she did a small bottle yesterday and another one today, she's 40 weeks tomorrow and so far it's caused a few contractions and that's it. I personally wouldn't do it because I've read so much about it, but she read that as long as you keep hydrated then it's okay... I'd be way too scared though as it can stress out the baby

I wouldn't do it! Seen a lot of women in L&D regret it..terrible diarrhea..
