Moving across the globe for love ??

Someone I know recently moved overseas to a country she's never been to before to marry a man she's been talking to on the Internet for about 4 years now. I found it insane and constantly told her not to go along with her whole family who all live in Australia (like myself.) There isn't much I can do to change anything now so I'll wait and see what happens. But what are your thoughts? I personally could NEVER trust someone like that, especially when there's issues of marriages for red cards/visas and stuff.
