Plane travel at 25-28 weeks with twins?

I'm 13 weeks with mono/di twins and am unsure of travel procedures for twins... i know that flying overseas with one baby is fine until 32 weeks. my husband and I are stationed in hawaii but want to fly to NC for Christmas to see family. That shouldn't be an issue right? One thing that concerns me is my u/s technician told me yesterday I have to come to the hospital weekly for fluid checks and for twin to twin transfusion syndrome checks.

I am prego with mono/Di girls and my doc said to not travel at all after week 20, especially no flying, short trips like an hour away by car are fine but no more then that, even though my prego was going really well. I was sad couse I was about 24 weeks when my little brother was getting married and I had to miss it. We were planning to go for about 2 years so I know it's difficult. But we didn't wanna risk anything and my brother  and the rest of the family understood as well and even told me not to come because they wouldn't want anything bad to happen. I am now 34 weeks this Thursday and have missed 3 wedding s but still going and hopefully will get to the 36 weeks! :)

My doc said that was definitely a non-option for us, we figured husband's family in London from the East coast was a write-off this year; a little further along in the 26-28 week range. I would call your doc and see their recommendation, but also be prepared to have to cancel last minute.

I am pregnant with di/di. We have flown 3 times and have a trip scheduled at christmas. I'll be 26 weeks or so. We bought refundable tickets in case I get put on bed rest. I'll say (we flew just last week) be prepared for many bathroom breaks and aching joints. I also needed two days to recover after each flight. Wiped me out.

My husban is stationed here in Hawaii and we're having di/di twins.. If you're getting care at tripler please let me know what they tell you. I've been wanting to fly back home too.

That's probably something you should ask your doctor about... I don't think I would travel past 25 weeks just in case. And we're gonna be HUGE by that time 😂😂😂

I was told starting around 22-24 weeks no more air travel by my OB and MFM but I could still go on road trips but just to make sure I know hospitals that are along the way. I'm also doing great still at 30w with mono/di girls,  no signs of preterm labor, no signs of ttts, ect. But every ob is different, I'd call your offices before and check with your doctor's.

I was told no travel after 20 weeks. The main concern is if they come early - are you prepared to go into labor away from your doctor and stay in North Carolina long term if they need time in a nicu?

The fact that you have a higher risk pregnancy I'd never consider traveling at that stage.  I'm planning to travel at 25 weeks with di-di twins and have level III NICUs every three hours on our trip and am slightly concerned about the risk of traveling myself. If you go into labor in the plane there's nothing that can be done, especially over an ocean. I'd stay home this Christmas.  Please talk with your doc.  Just another thought, if you were to go into labor in NC you likely will end up staying there for months without the comforts of home and then need to travel back to Hawaii with new babies.

I would ask your doctor. I wanted to go away for a babymoon. My Dr. said no flying for me after 20 weeks and after 25 weeks don't roadtrip too far or anywhere that you wouldn't want to give birth as preterm labor is a possibility with twins. Every dr and every pregnancy is different though. :)
