How to tell a guy you're on your period?

So, I've been hanging out with this guy for a few weeks now and we usually always have sex when we hang out. I'm on my period right now and obviously can't have sex. I know he is going to try to whenever we hang out tonight, and I'm not sure how to tell him. Should I let him know before hanging out with him over text or should I let him know if he tries to have sex?

Tell him before you hang out. I dont know about you but if I were in your situation I would want to see if he wants to hang out and just chill because he actually likes me for me and not just the sex, if he said dont come over when I tell him I would know that he only wants me for sex.

It all really depends on what your relationship is. Are you friends with benefits? Then you should tell him beforehand because he may not want to hang out. Are you dating? Then you can just tell him while you're hanging out, if he goes to make a move just tell him. If you're grown up enough to be having semi casual sex with a guy, you're grown up enough to tell him you're on your period.

Don't tell him nothing about your period. Tell him you want to spend quality time without getting busy. If he keeps badgering you & doesn't respect that you just don't want to do get it on, get up and leave. You don't owe him an explanation.

Are you embarrassed of having your period?  Like isn't that something they teach in high school?  Because if you're having sex then I'm assuming you've both taken sex Ed and know that blood comes out at least one week out of a month.  Worst part is that you cant be grown about it and tell him you're  on the rag I am sure you aren't his first fling and he knows what that is.
