Pumping to increase Milk

My doctor wants me to pump each morning since you have the most I guess. But by 2 I feel like I can't fill up so I don't do it ( my son has been sleeping for 20 mins a few times a day and wakes up hungry) can I build my supply even if I pump at night? I already leak a lot at night too

Your milk production is at its peak at night. So pumping at night is nice but it will make you get stuck doing it regularly. Your body will see if as a time to over produce and leave you feeling very full if you were to "skip" a pump and sleep thru the night.

I think the main point is to pump at the same time each day, so your body learns to continue to produce. And for most women, AM is when we have the most milk, but I think if you're stressed at the AM pumping time, then that may impact your production, so I'd go with what consistently works in your schedule.
