Military ball hair??

Hi! I want to get extensions for a military ball I have in November but I don't want a glue in or clips one. What is the best kind of extension method out there? I want it to look natural, stay in place and last! I'm also worried about my hair being TOO short. It doesn't even come down to my Shoulders yet. I am scared that'll it'll look TOO uneven with the extensions and it'll look tacky! I am Hispanic and have pretty thick hair and was wondering if that'll be a problem? It'll be my first time getting them so is there any specific kind of hair that is the best? Also I live in Louisiana, any ladies here from Louisiana and recommed a hair salon that'll do extensions?
