How do you ladies feel about getting the new Flu shot while pregnant as well as other vaccines?

I'm pregnant and it is the only time I get a flu shot. When you're pregnant your immune system is compromised and you are more susceptible to contracting the flu and if you do it can be fatal. Plus if you get a flu shot during your pregnancy your newborn will also be protected against the flu when they're born.

I get vaccinated every year for the flu. I will get another tdap at 28 weeks. Vaccinations maintain herd immunity and protect those too young to be protected.

I got mine yesterday.  Because he'll be born in January and babies can't get the flu shot before 6 months.  So,  I did it for the baby.

Prior to being pregnant I've never taken the flu shot (28 years)! I don't really get sick easily. But obviously it was doctors order at 18 weeks pregnant. I took it and had no side effects, it made me a little sleepy but no sickness in the days after. I felt perfectly fine.

I always get my flu shot regardless of whether I am pregnant. It is not just about protecting yourself from the flu, it's about protecting those that are at higher risk for the illness being fatal (children and elders) and those with immune disorders that cannot get the flu shot.

I've never had a flu shot before, but the dr assured me the virus was dead and there were no preservatives in the shot. The dr also told me that the flu is much worse for pregnant women as 20-30% end up in the hospital for dehydration. That was enough to get me the shot. I had a little bruise at the injection site and that's it. If it helps kiddo when he's born to fight away the flu then that's all I need to hear.

When I went to the OBGYN today they asked me if I wanted one and said I didn't have to have one if I didn't want one.. Never had the flu before and never had a flu shot (knock on wood I don't get it now that I've said that lol)

I had my flu shot 3 weeks ago and everything has been absolutely perfect for me! I get them to work in the hospitals and I also have diabetes, so the flu could do a lot of damage to my body if I were to get it. I've never had adverse reactions to the vaccine so I just get it every year to be safe! Just my personal preference though.

I get one every year! I know it worked last year too because my desk mate at work was out almost a week with the flu and I was just fine!  I'm a high risk asthma patient so the flu is almost guaranteed hospital time for me. Not good for baby!
