This isn't really controversial ( Rant )

Since I found out I was pregnant, my mom offered to have me live with her for a few months to save on bills/utilities/rent so I can have more to prepare for my my baby boy. Since my lease wasn't over I was responsible for finding a new tenant for my apartment ( lease transfer ) this is how it works 

1. You find a tenant 

2. You advise the landlord

3. You give the landlord 15 days to approve or decline the new tenant 

4. The new tenant signs a lease with the landlord so you're no longer responsible for the payment of the rent. 

I followed the law and found a woman who was ready to move for the first of October. I sent my landlord A registered letter and and tried calling her numerous times. By law if she doesn't give you an answer within 15 days, it's considered as her accepting.  So after 12 days she advises me that she was out of town and couldn't contact the new girl. Once she got around to doing it, after 14 days the woman had found another place. 

Being the worry wort that I am, I had two other people on the back burner just in case. She refused one person and claimed that her references seemed fake and decided to go with another guy i had told her about . She made a date to meet him after approving his references and he bailed on her about three separate times. By then it was October first. I still had another person to take the place and she seems reluctant. After a week she accepted to sign the lease with them. So now, they both decided together that they would

only move in in November. Now the landlord wants me to continue paying the rent for a place I haven't lived in since August. I had no problem paying but I advised her in September about the new tenant and today she had the audacity to tell me to clean the apartment and make sure I'm gone before the end of the week so she can paint for the new people.. Mind you u paid for the month of October. I'm so frustrated because I was expecting them to move in and at least give me a portion of the rent back and now all that money spent on rent can't go towards my baby boy. 

What should I do?
