Anyone successfully gotten baby back to breast at 8 weeks or more?

Question

My LO had latching issues in the beginning so I've been exclusively pumping for him these last 8 weeks. Today out of desperation (he was hungry and I didn't have a bottle ready) I tried putting him to breast. His latch was great! But he was mad because I'm guessing my milk wasn't flowing as fast as he's used to from the bottle.

Any tips? Do we just keep trying, do I ever offer a bottle? Not sure what to do. He wouldn't stop crying so I eventually caved and gave him a bottle. But I'd love to eliminate bottles from our lives if I could.

Agree with Michele. Let him fuss it out. He will realize that the breast will give him what he wants. Also if you give him a bottle use premie nipples. They make your child work just as hard to get the milk like at the breast.

If you can be patient with the crying and him being angry then only feed from breast. Keep at it and eventually he will get the memo.
